Welcome to Seventh Grade Social Studies!!! In the month of September we will dive into a unit exploring the impact of environment the culture of Native Americans in North America.
In the seventh grade we focus on United States history in a chronological order
from the exploration period through the American Civil War in 1865. Some
key issues we will discuss this year are Native Americans, the rise of colonies,
the American Revolution, the Constitution, early American presidents,
westward movement, slavery, and the Civil War. It is important that we
explore all types of learning from lecture, to cooperative groups, and research.
It will be my job to give you the tools to learn, it will be your job to become
critical historians, questioning actions that have taken place in the past.
Our goal will be to make you interpret, understand, and criticize.
